HOW DO YOU DIFFER FROM OTHER MAGICIANS?

Eric the Magic Guy has done years of both stand-up and improv comedy. Every element in any of Eric's performances are designed to make kids laugh and have fun. It's a comedy magic show for kids.

HOW DO YOU DIFFER FROM OTHER BALLOON ARTISTS

With my background in stand-up and improv comedy, even though I'm making balloons, the kids have a blast. I make the entire experience entertaining and fun (as well as make super awesome balloons).

IS THERE ANYTHING SPECIAL FOR THE GUEST OF HONOR?

There is always a special section of any birthday magic show dedicated to the guest of honor. It's their special day, so they are featured in one of the most fun and exciting parts of the show.

CAN YOU REALLY KEEP THE KIDS ENTERTAINED THE ENTIRE TIME?

Absolutely, that's the one of the things that make professionals stand out. It's critical for a children's entertainers to maintain control of the audience, keep them engaged and entertained the entire time.

CAN I GET ENTERTAINMENT CHEAPER?

There are always beginners and part-time magicians that are just starting out that may offer their services for bargain basement prices. However, if you want a full-time professional magician that will give your family a memory that will last a lifetime, you will find Eric the Magic Guy's fees are competitive and well earned.

SHOULD I USE A TALENT AGENCY TO FIND A MAGICIAN (OR BALLOON ARTIST)?

You are more than welcome to use a talent agency to find a magician (or balloon artist), as a matter of fact, Eric the Magic Guy works for many of them. You will get the same high quality performance, however, it will cost you more money as a result. Being that you are here reading this, you have already found the more cost effective alternative.

HOW LONG SHOULD MY BIRTHDAY PARTY LAST?

Most parties typically last about 3 hours or so.

WHAT TIME SHOULD A MAGIC SHOW START?

The magic show should start 20-30 minutes after the party begins. This gives time for all (most) of the guests to arrive.

HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I HIRE A BALLOON ARTIST FOR? HOW MANY KIDS CAN THEY HANDLE IN AN HOUR?

The amount of time it takes for a balloon artist to make a sculpture depends on the difficulty of the design. A balloon artist can do 25-30 simple balloons, 15-20 typical balloons and 5-10 more intricate balloons an hour. It's optimal to hire a balloon artist 1 hour for every 15 kids.

WHAT TIME SHOULD THE BALLOON ARTIST START WORKING?

A balloon artist should star twisting as soon as the party starts, since it is not necessary that everyone be present the entire time. An immediate start reduces the line and gives the kids something to do as soon as they arrive.

HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU NEED TO SET UP?

It takes me about 5-10 minutes to set up a show once I arrive.

HOW EARLY WILL YOU ARRIVE?

I typically arrive at your location 15 minutes before show time. This way I can get my props inside and set-up in plenty of time for the show.

HOW MUCH SPACE IS NEEDED FOR THE MAGIC SHOW?

I have worked in large gymnasiums and tiny closet sized apartments. While I will work with the space available, I need a few feet for my work area and the children should beabout 3-4 feet further back than that, thus 5-6 feet from the back wall (minimum) is strongly preferred. Also, I cannot have anyone directly on either side of me or behind me (including adults) during the performance.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE FOR THE MAGIC SHOW?

My magic show is completely self-contained. I have my own table and props. Everything electronic is battery operated. The only thing you need to provide is the audience.

HOW DO I ENSURE A GREAT SHOW?

The best way to have a great show is to limit the distractions. That is why indoor is better than outdoor... less distractions. Also, help limit the talking (particularly from the adults) and assist with unruly or misbehaving kids. The younger the children are, the more critical it is to be aware of and limit distractions.

WHAT SHOULD PARENTS DO DURING MY MAGIC SHOW?

The best and most entertaining thing parents can do during my magic show is to watch the show. The most enjoyment many adults have is watching their children laugh and have fun. The show is designed to be enjoyed by both children and adults. However, if some adults are not interested, its best that they are in a different room, so as not to distract the children (and other adults) that want to watch the show.

CAN I TAKE PICTURES OR VIDEO DURING YOUR MAGIC SHOW?

Absolutely, I encourage it. Furthermore, I would love it if you posted them on your (and tagged my) social media sites.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME AFTER ONE OF YOUR PERFORMANCES?

You have no actual obligations after the performance is complete (with the exception of the payment). However, it would mean a lot to me if you would post an honest review of my show (a link will be sent to you), to assist others who are making the same decision as you are now.

HOW IS THE PAYMENT HANDLED?

You can pay by cash, check, Venmo, Paypal, CashApp or credit card. If you elect to pay by credit card, please let me know in advance so I so I can send you a link ahead of time.

DO I HAVE TO TIP THE PERFORMER?

While tipping is customary in the entertainment industry (particularly if people exceed your expectations), you do not have to tip the performer. You will receive the same high quality of professionalism, entertainment and service whether you choose to tip or not.

DO YOU OFFER ANY TYPE OF MONEY BACK GUARANTEE?

Absolutely, I work extremely hard to make my show awesome. It's critical to me that you are satisfied with my service. If you are not completely satisfied, I am happy to refund your money. I go out of my way to make sure that I exceed your expectations and I back it up with a full 100% refund.

DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE IN PLACE?

I carry a $1,000,00 liability policy to protect both of us in the unlikely event that something goes wrong. Some venues will require a certificate of coverage, which can happily be provided upon request.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

You can cancel the show with no penalty up to 2 weeks before the event. If a show is cancelled with less than 14 days notice, I do not have enough time to book another show and the full fee will be due. This fee may apply to another event within 365 days.
